A playground for the senses
Bascule Bridge Grille and Wine Bar was founded in December of 2011. Located on Bridge Street in the heart of the Historic Ashtabula Harbor, we picked the most scenic corner and built our brand around its natural beauty. Patrons can enjoy our close proximity to the Ashtabula Strauss Lift Bridge, a national Historic Landmark built in 1925 that is the last remaining single-leaf bascule bridge on an Ohio state highway system. We think that’s pretty impressive, so we took this perfect window into the past and transformed it into a playground for the senses.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create an upscale-casual atmosphere, offer top-quality tempered with value, remain centered on ethics as a community-centered business, and be ever-conscious of environmental and economic sustainability.
Bascule’s focus is on seasonal food, local produce, innovative recipes, and the drinks that pair best with them. Our managing partners and chefs have amassed experience in food styles from around the world, including Italian, French, Asian, Caribbean, and Mediterranean cuisines. They are especially proud of their scratch-cooking and “slow food” preparation abilities.
